The Davie Town Council Meets at Davie Town Hall for our regular meeting on December 20, 2006. The Agenda is online.
Note the following items, in which there may be general public interest*:
- Plat, "LIVE OAK ESTATES". Generally located on the south side of Southwest 20 Street, East of Shotgun Road (SW 154 Avenue). The petitioner requests approval of the plat known as "Live Oak Estates." The plat consists of approximately 3.11 acres (135,544 sq. ft.) of land and is restricted to three (3) single family dwelling units. (Agenda Item 4.5).
- Resolution Relating to Mobile Home Parks, Conversions, "Exit Plan", etc. A Resolution reaffirming the Town's policy regarding the redevelopment of mobile home parks for any use which would require the permanent and involuntary displacement of Davie residents and requiring submission of an Exit/Relocation Plan satisfactory to the Town, and reaffirming the lack of affordable housing available in South Florida and it's detrimental impact on senior citizens on fixed-incomes and low/moderate families and individuals. (Agenda Item 4.21).
- Change Plat Note: Pine Island Commercial, 8501 Orange Drive. The petitioner requests approval of this resolution to authorize the change in the restrictive note on the "Pine Island Commercial" Plat. The proposed note change is as follows: From: "Tract A is restricted to 100 townhouse units; and Tract B is restricted to 4,800 square feet of commercial use; and Tract C is restricted open space." To: "Tract A is restricted to 100 townhouse units; and Tract B is restricted to 24,000 square feet of commercial use; and Tract C is restricted open space." (Agenda Item 4.26).
- Resolution Approving Regional Actictivity Center (RAC) Master Plan. (Agenda Item 4.29).
- Site Plan: Eddie's Collision Experts, 4375 Southwest 60th Avenue. (Agenda Item 4.31).
- Site Plan, 7780 Griffin Road. The petitioner (B&R Development) received site plan approval from the Town Council on October 19, 2005 for a new two-story, 19,600 square foot professional office building within the Griffin Corridor District. The petitioner desires to receive site plan re-approval for the above mention development application. (Agenda Item 4.32).
- Site Plan: Pine Island Commercial, 8501 Orange Drive. The subject site is approximately 1.43 acres in size and is located on the northwest corner of Pine Island Road and Orange Drive. The propose site plan consists of a three-story office building, concrete walkways, and a parking area. The office building is located on the southern (front) portion of the subject site facing Orange Drive, while the parking is located at the northern (rear) portion of the property. (Agenda Item 4.34).

Davie Police Department Chaplain's Breakfast.
This morning I attended the 21st Annual Davie Police Department's Chaplain's Breakfast. Rabbi Sheldon Haar of Temple Kol Ami was the guest speaker. Many of the local police chaplains attended, together with city officials, residents and police officers from Davie and our neighboring communities.

- Agreement for Professional Services on Downtown Master Plan. A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF DAVIE, FLORIDA APPROVING A SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH THE FIRM OF DOVER KOHL & PARTNERS FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES TO REFINE AND IMPLEMENT THE TOWN OF DAVIE, FLORIDA DOWNTOWN MASTER PLAN. (Agenda Item 4.5).
- Contract Extension: Police and Fire-Rescue Dry Cleaning. A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF DAVIE, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN EXTENSION OF THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE TOWN AND COLMEX USA GROUP INC., D/B/A ONE PRICE DRY CLEANING FOR CLEANING AND LAUNDERING SERVICES FOR THE POLICE AND FIRE-RESCUE DEPARTMENT UNIFORMS. ($52,000/police; $26,109.20/fire) (Agenda Item 4.14).
- Plat: Griffin Landmark Building, No. Side Of Griffin Rd, E. of Turnpike. The subject site consists of 3.08 Acres (134,298 square feet) and restricted to twenty-four (24) high-rise units, 1,084 sq. ft. of commercial use, and 36,411 sq. ft. office use. (Agenda Item 4.17).
- Site Plan, Griffin Landmark Building. (See item 4.17) (Agenda Item 4.19).
- Site Plan, Townhomes at SW 49th Street and SW 66th Terrace. The subject site is 1.21 Acres in area with undeveloped land to the south; a canal to the west, a duplex to the north and Hidden Hollow I on the west side of Southwest 66th Terrace. The petitioner is proposing ten (10) three-bedroom townhomes in two separate buildings facing SW 66th Terrace. The property is zoned RM-10, Medium Dwelling District (10 units per acre). (Agenda Item 4.20).
- Creation of Preservation Board, United Ranches (2nd Reading). (Agenda Item 6.1).
